Dreaming

In Aboriginal culture, ceremonies are focal points in the life of the community. They are held for different purposes, but each is integral to the continuation of Aboriginal culture and vital to the happiness and well being of the people and the land. Particular dances and song cycles accompany each.

Women’s Awelye ceremonies are acknowledgments of their responsibilities for the land and their relationship to it.

When two generations collide. These artworks tell a joining story and have been designed so that they can all be displayed together as a set. It is the first time that Aunty and Niece, Charmaine Pwerle and Jade Akamarre have worked on a piece together.

{Blooming} Capsule collection is inspired by the joint love, respect and connection for our land, pulling from the colours of the land after the rain has come.

These pieces are in honour of the late Barbara Weir and the late Minnie Pwerle, channeling in from 4 generations of strong woman.
