Pwerle Gallery

Pwerle Gallery is an Aboriginal, family owned company, founded in 2015 by Jade Torres, the daughter of the internationally renowned and respected art dealer, Fred Torres. With majority of artists being family members who are stake holders in the company, Jade is proud to represent her cultural heritage in the latest form; an exciting next generation of contemporary aboriginal art. Jade is also the Great Granddaughter to Minnie Pwerle and Granddaughter to Barbara Weir.

Pwerle Gallery is following in the footsteps of the family owned business, Dreaming Art Centre of Utopia ‘DACOU’, which has become firmly entrenched in the contemporary Aboriginal Art industry and is recognised as the leading supplier of quality Utopian artwork.

We as a family have promoted Indigenous art via catalogues and publications and has presented over 300 exhibitions in prominent galleries both nationally and internationally and are proud to have broken the record twice in achieving the highest price paid for a painting by an Australian Aboriginal female artist, Emily Kame Kngwarreye. A percentage of every Pwerle Gallery sale goes directly to those in our community.

Pwerle Gallery is also an international online boutique, which offer both new and most-coveted artwork from the Atnwengerrp community, with an exciting plan to expand into homewares and fabrications in the near future.Â
