Reconciliation Action Plans

Working with you, to tell memorable stories.

At Pwerle, we are more than a gallery; we're a commitment to cultural integrity, ethical representation, and fostering cross-cultural understanding. Our roots run deep into the heart of Utopia, reflecting our unwavering dedication to Aboriginal art and heritage.

We support organisations at every stage of their Reconciliation Action Plan journey in two ways: as consultants, helping you build genuine, informed connection between your business and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture; and as artists, creating the artwork that gives your RAP its visual voice and lasting story.

how can we help

Consultancy & Cultural Guidance

We work alongside your RAP Working Group to help bridge the gap between your organisation and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and communities; offering guidance on cultural protocol, language, and meaningful, respectful engagement as your plan takes shape.

Custom & Existing Artwork

Whether you're commissioning a brand-new piece designed around your organisation's story and colours or licensing an existing artwork from our collection, we work closely with you to find the right piece and the right artist. We also manage the copyright, intellectual property and licensing arrangements properly, so your RAP artwork is used ethically and correctly across your materials.

Past RAP Projects

URPS — Innovate RAP (2023–2026)

When URPS moved into their new CBD office, their RAP Working Group wanted a piece that would visually anchor their reconciliation commitment — something that spoke to where they'd come from and where they were heading. A recommendation led them to Pwerle, and from the first conversation, Jade understood what they were hoping to convey. She paired them with family artist Charmaine Pwerle, who created a custom piece in URPS's own colours.
That artwork now greets every visitor at reception, framing the space the moment they walk in.

As URPS describe it:
"Organic, but with structure. Moody, but with lightness. Colours that invoke thought: is the yellow our burnt landscape, or is it our soils? Is the green vegetation, or blooms in our seas? Is the blue our skies, or is it our waters?"

"Charmaine's lineage of artists shines through. We are proud of the piece, proud of Jade, and proud of Pwerle. Every step with Pwerle was thoughtful, easy, and meaningful." — URPS

Acler & Significant Other —
Innovate RAP (2024–2026)

Jade worked with the Acler & Significant Other team as a cultural advisor on their RAP Working Group, and licensed her own artwork, Dreaming in my Grandmother's Country (Shades of Ochre Collection, acrylic on linen, 2022), to feature throughout their plan.
"We are also so grateful to Jade Akamarre for supporting us to develop the most beautiful artwork to support our RAP."
