Yes. Every piece sold through Pwerle Gallery comes with a certificate of authenticity, verifying the artist, the Dreaming, and the work's connection to our family and community. Our certificates carry two layers of provenance: the documented history of DACOU (Dreaming Art Centre of Utopia), founded in 1993, and the direct, unbroken family representation of Pwerle Gallery today.
We sell directly, as a family gallery, not through a separate art centre. We're often asked how that compares, so we want to be upfront about it: Pwerle Gallery is, and has always been, run by direct family, not a broker or an external organisation representing artists on their behalf. Every artist we represent is part of our own family. There is no separate entity standing between the artist and the gallery because the artist and the gallery are the same family.
Every artist we represent is an independent artist, paid directly for their work. There is no broker taking a cut between the artist and the sale, and no artist is exclusively bound to sell only through us, they remain free to paint, exhibit and sell however they choose. Because every artist is direct family, fair payment isn't a policy we follow; it's simply how this gallery has always operated.
Pwerle Gallery is a 100% Aboriginal-owned and operated gallery. Every artist we represent is Aboriginal, and every one of them is direct family. We do not sell reproductions, prints made without artist involvement or work created by anyone outside our own family and community.
If you own a painting that came through DACOU or Pwerle Gallery stock and no longer have its certificate, get in touch with us directly, we can talk you through verifying and re-issuing a certificate for the piece. Please note this is a paid service, with the fee confirmed once we understand the painting and circumstances involved.
Our online store is incredibly easy to navigate through. It is as simple as selecting the artwork you would like to purchase, add it to the cart and follow the prompts.
Once you are in the cart, you will be asked if you want a quote for stretching your artwork. If this is a service you would like to add, our team will provide you with a price after your order has gone through. You then have the option to accept the additional quote or have your piece shipped unstretched.
Commissioned pieces are created specifically for you, in consultation with the artist. Get in touch with us to discuss size, style, budget and timeline - we'll guide you through the process from there. Please note commissioned artworks are final sale, due to the unique and personal nature of the process.
If your piece arrives unstretched, keep it rolled until you're ready to have it stretched or framed, avoid storing it folded. Once displayed, avoid hanging your artwork in direct sunlight or in humid areas such as bathrooms, as prolonged UV exposure and moisture can affect the paint and canvas over time.

The very short answer is, it depends.
The depending factors are largely related to what product you have ordered. If it is an un-stretched piece of art and we are sending via secure mailing tube, dispatch will occur within 3 business days of you placing an order. Shipping times after dispatch will vary depending on your location.
If you opt for stretching your artwork, we will provide an ETA based off our suppliers lead time + shipping time. We always do our best to provide the fastest and best service times as possible, while navigating the multiple moving factors.
Prints take approximately 10 business days to produce, as they are made to order. If you opt for professional framing of your print, we will be able to provide an ETA based off our suppliers lead time.
Transparency is key for our business. Although receiving your collectable piece of art will never be as quick as your supermarket click-and-collect, we pride ourselves of delivering the highest quality product. Your patience is always appreciated.
We know art is a personal choice, and while we do our best to work with you to ensure the piece looks amazing in your space prior to purchasing, we understand sometimes once a piece arrives it might not feel quite right.
We are happy to exchange your piece for a different item, or a Pwerle Credit Note, within 30 days of receiving your piece. Commissioned Artworks are final sale, due to the unique and personal nature of the process.
To organise an exchange, please contact us directly at hello@pwerle.com.au with your Order Number in the email subject title and we will arrange a time to help you selecting a replacement piece. Please note that extra shipping costs may occur.
