GUEST SPEAKING

Conversations that inspire, educate and shift perspective.

Pwerle Gallery's Director, Jade Torres Akamarre, is available for guest speaking engagements across Australia and internationally. A fourth generation Aboriginal artist, cultural custodian and businesswoman, Jade is also the founder of one of the few privately Aboriginal owned galleries in the country. She offers rare and powerful insight drawn from a life spent within art, culture and community.

Jade is not only a voice for her people, but an artist in her own right. Her experience is deeply personal and entirely her own. Raised by a lineage of significant artists including her grandmother Barbara Weir, great-aunt Emily Kame Kngwarreye and great-grandmother Minnie Pwerle, Jade was immersed from birth in the creative and commercial worlds of Aboriginal art. Her story is one of cultural responsibility, resilience and truth carried across generations.

Jade brings this knowledge into every room with clarity, warmth, and strength. She speaks from the heart and from firsthand experience, and every presentation can be tailored to suit the audience — whether the focus is art, business, fashion, culture or the crossovers between all of these areas. Jade's voice has been recognised nationally, including as a Vogue Australia Game Changer, an InDaily 40 Under 40 honouree and a former Brand South Australia board member.

Jade speaks to:

- Aboriginal art, kinship systems and cultural protocol
- The impact of the Stolen Generations, through the story of her grandmother Barbara Weir
- Ethical representation and globalisation in the Aboriginal art market
- Leading a self-determined Aboriginal business without government funding
- The pressure and responsibility of being a female leader in a male-dominated industry
- Walking between two worlds: corporate and cultural, business and bush
- Intergenerational resilience, cultural survival and mentoring the next generation

Jade is available for a wide range of engagements, including corporate speaking, cultural workshops and seminars, panel discussions, industry events, mentoring and education programs, university and school presentations, podcast interviews and international cultural dialogues.

Whether on stage, in classrooms, behind a microphone, or within community, Jade shares grounded, unapologetic storytelling that bridges cultures and inspires change. Jade has appeared alongside international acts including a live stage guest spot on the world-renowned podcast and comedy show The Guilty Feminist.
