Jade Akamarre (Jade Torres) is an Alyawarre/Anmatyerre artist and the Founding Director of Pwerle Gallery, which represents four generations of her family from Atnwengerrp (Utopia, NT). A fourth-generation painter, she began as a child alongside her great-great aunt Emily Kame Kngwarreye and grandmother Barbara Weir; her great-grandmother is Minnie Pwerle. Jade paints under her skin name Akamarre. In 2021 Barbara entrusted her with Atnwengerrp – My Grandmother’s Country (Awelye), which Jade renders as aerial “talking maps” of tracklines, ceremony grounds and seasonal change—single-pass linear dot work with palettes drawn from Country.
She founded Pwerle Gallery in 2015 (continuing Fred Torres’ DACOU legacy) and advocates for cultural sovereignty and provenance. Projects include collaborations with Porsche Australia, American Express, Samsung, Yamaha, Vinteloper, Significant Other, Onix Mosaic and Clearlight Sauna. Featured by VOGUE, Harper’s BAZAAR and Marie Claire, Jade was a VOGUE Game Changer (2018), InDaily 40 Under 40 finalist (2021), and served on the Brand South Australia board.

Porsche Centre Adelaide x Jade Akamarre
For this momentous occasion, we embrace a world of colour and pay tribute to 75 years of Porsche by celebrating a pristine example of Exclusive Manufaktur in the form of a Neptune Blue Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo.
Inspired by the true spirit of Exclusive Manufaktur, Jade has created a stunning one-of-a- kind art piece that draws inspiration from the unique and bold Neptune Blue colour and sleek style lines of the Taycan. We’ve merged our two worlds by turning the electrifying Porsche into a canvas, wrapping the sophisticated Taycan in Jade’s enchanting and stunning artwork – exclusively created to capture the soul and essence of both brands.

Beginning with the same foundation of tracklines, this series introduces a protective veil. Once the routes are marked, Jade layers them beneath imagery that recalls the land’s renewal—wildflowers pushing through the earth, Country breathing after rain or fire. What lies beneath is never erased but carefully held, safeguarded by surface patterns of beauty and life.
This approach reflects the dual role of storytelling: to preserve sacred paths while also nurturing what grows above them. The series embodies both care and protection, speaking to how Country continues to thrive and heal, while the ancestral tracks remain present, honoured, and alive beneath the surface.
